I wonder what the channel bandwidth is going to be, max is 25kbits/s and 8 players is usally the norm for each channel.
I am happy for the devs of Teamspeak - hopefully gets them a big boost.
Anybody know what the channel specs (kbits/s) are going to be and what the number of players per channel ?

hehe... that devine aura is tempting... but i'm cheap so i'm going to stick with my Ithas bow for now. hopefully they do something like this for every chapter. it would help them rake in some extra money.

Ya it would, and I'm worried about ArenaNet making a monthly fee because they can't afford to do GW.

they won't... they might vary the prices of the expansions at the very most... but monthly fees are out of the question for A.Net.

I'm not expecting it, but GW will be costly to run and if they feel the need they might put a low monthly fee like $3 a month.

Kewl... this kinda/sorta justifies my holding out on buying the pre-order package. Now I just have to convince my local EB games to reserve a copy for me. Last time I asked 'em to, the A: never heard of the game, B: released it late, C: almost charged me the wrong price and D: almost didn't give me the special DVD video thingy that was supposed to go with a reserved copy (like mine).
Although to be fair, it had nothing to do with that specific location, it was a muck-up on the corperate level. I don't blame the store employees at all, they were extraordinarily human about it.

ArenaNet will do amazingly well...and keep their promises.
because i believe quality always prove itself
before i found out about guildwars, my favorite developer was blizzard for their quality games. blizzard's quality games have been always popular(can you believe they still make starcraft patch?...now i call that a quality service)
after the guildwars beta...ArenaNet have proved itself worthy of my fav developer list. guildwars just blew my mind...above my expectations.
Im a big fan of ArenaNet now
i wish ArenaNet will do so well that they keep release fun quality games in the future
busy advertising guildwars to my friends these days :P
thanks ArenaNet for guildwars

I love AN too, what I wanna know. Is what your next game will be?
I know they will do multiple exspansions. But for new games, I dunno.
Let's all hope its a Guild Wars 2

This may be redundant, but since my pre-order is with Best Buys, if I choose the deluxe package instead of the standard edition, will I still get the special item (shield) designated by the pre-order purchase because it will be purchased from Best Buys? Is the special item assigned because of the pre-order package or is it assigned by final purchase? Is NC Soft really going to produce x number of games with the special item per vendor based on the pre-order and not on actual purchases by the buyers?

im pretty sure it will work like this
preorder + regular = preorder special item
preorder + collectors = preorder and collectors special item
the pre-order gives vendor estimated popularity of the game among gamers.
the pre-order also guarantees that "you" get a copy of the game.
so, if vendor sees potential of the game...they will probably order extra amount of copies, so that "everyone" can get hands on a copy..not only people who pre-ordered.

That I understand having been a media/hardware buyer way back when video recorders sold for $1500 (guess the year!) and the computer of choice was the TRS80, but the basis for my question really boils down to if NC Soft bases the character specific items on the pre-order disc or on the actual game disc. I tend to think that it is based on the pre-order disc we loaded.

for pre-order item...i think it will be based on account
you make account with pre-order key.
that account will be saved on their server
once you buy the full version game and log on to your account which you created with pre-order...you will have preorder special item
BUT
if you make a brand new account with full version game, no special item

Thanks for your reply, but I'd like to hear from one of the site admins or one of the beta testers with an official answer (to quell my anxiety).
